    21–24 May 2026

    “The sixteenth edition of fosforo: the science festival ended on Sunday 24 May; for four days it turned the squares, historic buildings and landmark sites of Senigallia into one big open-air laboratory spread across the town. From 21 to 24 May, over 215 free events and more than 65 science communicators, researchers and artists brought the town to life, welcoming an audience of 15,000 visitors – families, schools, the curious and enthusiasts, some of whom came from outside the region.”

    “Loud applause for Paolo Attivissimo, welcomed and listened to by 200 people at the Chiesa dei Cancelli as he ‘debunked’ conspiracy theories: the moon landing, the Kennedy assassination, the Paul McCartney case and Elvis Presley’s double, the famous ‘Area 51’ where an alien spacecraft is supposedly hidden, chemtrails and 9/11. All these topics were followed by many questions from the audience, which kept fosforo:’s friend Attivissimo busy for over two hours!”

    “Despite being hampered by bad weather, fosforo: was a great success with the public: as for the workshops and educational activities run together with schools, special mention goes to the positive experience highlighted by the pupils of the Istituto Comprensivo di Corinaldo, where the exhibition on natural elements gave pupils from as many as six schools in the Senigallia hinterland an enthusiastic first approach to science and nature. A contagious enthusiasm, too, since visitors, parents and teachers alike used very positive words to describe it.”
