How to play
Magic squares have a beautiful property: the sum of the numbers in every row, column and diagonal is equal to a number called the magic constant. So for every size of magic square there is a magic constant. Can you work out what it is and how the 9 numbers must be arranged inside the square?

In the magic squares we find a great property: the sum of the numbers on all rows, columns and diagonals is equal to a number called the magic constant. For each dimension of a magic square there is thus a magic constant. Can you find what the 9 numbers are and how should they be arranged inside the square?
The history
If the magic square contains the first n natural numbers, the magic square is called normal. Only in this case is there a formula for finding the magic constant, as we explain in the example in the video.
